Congratulations on an excellent achievement!

CONGRATULATIONS!
Well done to all our students who entered and ran in the Pub2Pub Fun Run on Sunday!
Jaden, Bobby and Siena all completed the mammoth 6km run, while Poppy and Jaime ran their hearts out in the 3km category.
What a great result after lots of perseverance and training.

We are so proud of all of you for literally 'going that extra mile' to raise money for those less fortunate than us.
Together they raised and incredible $1,696 for Mission Australia - Wow!

An Art Competition - Woohoo!

JERSEY DAY!

JERSEY DAY (FRIDAY 30 AUGUST):
As part of Jersey Day this year (Friday 30 August) at the Bayview Campus, students will have the option to order pies ($4.00) and sausage rolls ($3.00) for lunch. Please order next week via Flexi-schools. The usual Friday menu will also be available.

What a Week 5!

Well it was action stations for Year 6 this week with our GD Cake Stall, a Peer Support session and the parade for Book Week.  We also had a brainstorming session with Mrs Hall and Mrs Bennett about our gift to the school of an incredible 'green room' and all the while keeping up with our learning in the classroom.

All the students should be super proud of themselves after last Wednesday.  I had several teachers come to me and say that the Year 6 students did an incredible job of running 'simultaneous story time' in Peer Support Groups.  They all read the book 'Macca The Alpaca' with great expression and talked through its message with the younger students of being assertive but kind when confronted with poor behaviour.  They were then so helpful at the Cake Stall and did such a fantastic job of cooking and selling the amazing cakes and cookies.

A great big THANK YOU to all the mums involved in helping with the stall, from making flyers, to setting up and assisting with the float (and all the other aspects of awesomeness that happen behind the scenes).  We are truly grateful!  The good news is that we raised an incredible $368!  Bravo to all involved.

Just a reminder that Stage 2 of the Graduation Diploma is due for Handing In next Friday 30th August.  It is all over the Home Learning Grid this fortnight and I have given time at school to beginning and working on the Person of Eminence Essay.  Please do check in with your child to ensure they are on track for completing this check point.  If you have any questions about this, please feel free to ask me.

Here are some fun images of our week.  I hope you enjoy them.

A Week of Mathematical Measurement

This week in Maths, the students were investigating the links between volume and capacity.  They learnt about displacement as a method for measuring the volume of an irregular object.  This is only possible due to the link between millilitres and centimetres cubed.  Ask your child what that link is...
Here are some photos of the students experimenting with centicubes and measuring jugs in order to be able to work out what that link was.

I have also included some photos of time with our buddies, fun on the basketball court and our last ever visit with Healthy Harold, that I just did not get time to post last term.  I hope you enjoy the them.
