Year 6 Achievements Continue

We have another quiet achiever in Year 6 who I feel it is important to acknowledge.

Jaden recently participated in the 24 hr Swim-a-thon at Collaroy Beach to raise funds for Head Above Water.  This is a local group located on the Northern Beaches created to have a positive impact on mental health though physical exercise.  Head Above Water also supports Gotcha 4 Life which is a foundation which has been established to improve the mental health of men and boys and save lives through better connections with friends, family and community.

Full detail on the organisation can be found here:  https://www.headabovewater.com.au/

Jaden swam a total of 6km, 120 laps of the 50m pool at Collaroy Beach. He swam 5km in 1hr on Saturday and returned on Sunday morning to swim a further 1km in the pouring rain.  Talk about resilience in action.  I am always thrilled to hear of the incredible achievements of our students outside of school, they inspire all of us to Aim High and remember that great things can be achieved through perseverance and focus.

Congratulations Jaden on an amazing achievement.

Week 8 Complete

Another busy week of learning down.  This week we have been working on our final assignments in both History and Science.  They began by working in groups for History to research and plan their news report comparing the experiences of two migrants.  The students have then gone on and used the skills they learnt from creating their subtraction tutorials last week, to start filming the news reports and documentaries. We also moved onto multiplication as a focus for our Maths learning and began with a fun times tables game as a warm up to using an algorithm for multiplication.  We hope you enjoy the photos below as a window into our classroom...
